YAMBOL IS A CITY
IN SOUTHEAST BULGARIA
AND IS ADMINISTRATIVE
CENTER OF YAMBOL DISTRICT

Throughout it’s many years of history it had a lot of different names - Dianpolis, Dianopolis and Dubilin.

The town of Yambol is located on both banks of the Tundzha River. It’s 77 km. away from the Black Sea and is located south of the Sofia-Burgas highway. The distance to the capital of the country Sofia is 297 km, to Varna – 216 km, to Plovdiv – 168 km, to Burgas – 92 km.

In the territory of the town are located the protected area "Ormana" 4 km away from the town, the hill in the town "Borovets" and one of the oldest city parks in the country, located on the banks of the river Tundzha.

Very close, 14 km away from Yambol are located the Bakadzhik hills with the monastery "St. Spas" and the temple "Alexander Nevsky".

The history of the town Yambol, which begins / began even before the establishment of the Bulgarian state, is very interesting. The well-arranged museum in Yambol presents a lot of interesting artifacts for it.

Attraction for the town of Yambol is the reconstructed ancient building “Bezisten”, which is now the center of a valuable permanent exhibition and also a concert hall. Yambol has several art galleries, a theatre “Nevena Kokanova”, a sport hall, playgrounds and a concert hall.

7 km. away from Yambol is located the ancient Thracian town Kabile with reconstructed Thracian and Roman buildings and a museum complex. The city is located at the foot of the peak "Rabbit Peak" with the sanctuary of the goddess Kabile.
